A collaboration between STIK, LA II and RYCA
Framed dimensions 87cm x 86cm
This work is considered to be very rare as it is believed to be the only and last remaining Artists Proof of an edition that was printed by Ryan Callanan as a collaboration between LA II, STIK and RYCA.
The two other AP’s - numbered 1/3 and 2/3 respectively were given to LA II and STIK - and were later supposedly destroyed by STIK due to some sort of disagreement with the creatives behind the work.
The edition (which we understand was printed by RYCA - who had printed several previous editions for the artist known as STIK) was supposedly destroyed at his request but when it came time to make payment for the edition he refused to pay the printer for his time and costs and demanded the printer (RYCA) return the AP 3/3 given to RYCA.
As we understand In exchange, RYCA retained the work as compensation for his time, energy, talent and monies expended on the abandoned but completed edition much to the dismay of STIK. To the point where when this work has appeared on the secondary market, STIK it appears claims it is an unauthenticated work and seems to be a little disgruntled the work is being offered by the printer, let alone an art gallery.
